Setting up high-level parameters for SurePrint™

Introduction

High-level parameters are initially set by an AIT Business Services technical resource during installation, according to the determined requirements of your specific ERP system. Additional configuration may become necessary over time in response to system updates or changing business needs.

This article may be used as a guide to understand and update these parameters as needed.

SurePrint Parameters

The SurePrint Parameters form contains settings related to the day-to-day operation of SurePrint™.

  • CustomerItemReplace: Tells the module how to behave when when printing labels for a customer/part where SurePrint™ templates have been linked both its Item and Customer Contract.
    • 0 (Offer to print both templates)
    • 1 (Ignore the Item template and only offer to override the Customer Contract template)
  • DefaultRefType: Specifies the default Ref Type to select when the SurePrint Console is first opened.
    • P (Pick List)
    • O (Customer Order)
    • T (Transfer Order)
    • S (Service Order)
    • I (Item)
    • J (Job)
  • OutputFieldDelimiterChar: Specifies which character will be used to separate data in a text file read by the BarTender label generation software. By default, the | character is used.
  • OutputFilePath: Specifies where in the server BarTender® labels files will be written to. This must be a path that BarTender® Software can access, and SQL can write to.
