Setting up item-specific designations

Setting up item-specific designations

Introduction

In addition to new forms, the SureShip™ module includes a new tab on the Items form for relevant item data. The SureShip tab is used to enter information related to self-contained items, export license numbers, origin criteria, and identification of hazardous materials.

This article describes fields used to capture various types of item-specific information.

Setting up self-contained items

Self-contained items are defined as:

  • Items that are shipped in the packaging they are received in.
  • Items that are consistently shipped in specific package types, using fixed packaging quantities.

The Self-Contained Item checkbox is used to designate self-contained items.

The Self Containment table is used to specify which package type to use depending on the pack quantity. Use the Package Type field to select an applicable package type code. Use the Min and Max fields to designate the quantity range that applies to the selected package type.

Set the Min and Max fields to the same value to set a package type for a specific quantity, instead of a range.

Setting up origin criteria

The Origin Criterion field specifies the country of origin that this part is obtained or produced in. This field is used to populate select international shipping reports.
