SETTING UP TEST AND PRODUCTION UPS ACCESS KEYS USING REST URL - ON PREM VERSION


                            CUSTOMER PROCEDURE


Setting up TEST and PRODUCTION UPS Access Keys                                                

Below are the steps for generating TEST UPS Access Keys for kiosk setup and management in CSI.

1.      Begin with clearing your cache/browsing history on your computer.

2.      Search for UPS Developer Portal

3.      Click on Create Application







            4.      Log in using your User ID and Password




            5.      Click on Add Apps



            6.      Fill in the appropriate information from the drop-down options by selecting “I want to integrate UPS technology into my business.  Select your account number associated with this account. Click Next.



            7.      Fill in missing contact information on the following page.



8.   App Name = SureShip                      Callback URL = leave blank

Products Included in this App - There are three pages to click through.  Please click each option.

 

Your Client ID and Client Secret will be displayed.  Keep this information in your files. This is the information that will be entered into your SureShip UPS Config screen. If you receive an error of any kind in this process, please contact patricia.cook@aitbusiness.com or submit a ticket to sureship@aitbusiness.com so we can troubleshoot the issue.

 

Log in to CSI

Entering TEST UPS Access Keys in CSI                                                  

Open form - SureShip UPS Config

AIT Test will be the first selection.  You will add two additional configs, one for ‘Your Company’ Test and one for ‘Your Company’ Production.  Both must be set up for UPS.

Add new record - Make sure you are on the REST tab

Description: ‘Your Company’ Test

Account Number:  Your actual account number

Client ID: provided on ups.com when you created your application

Client Secret: provided on ups.com when you created your application

REST URL: https://wwwcie.ups.com/

Merchant ID: Left blank at this time

Label Height and Width: please fill in your dimensions

Freight Pickup Start/End Time: 1300-1790

Label Directory – your choice, this will be the place on the utility server where UPS label files come back and where you want them saved on your server. Most people have separate sub-directories for each carrier and credential type (i.e. …\FedEx\Test\, …\FedEx\Prod\, …\UPS\Test\, …\UPS\Prod\, etc.)

Entering PRODUCTION UPS Access Keys                                                                

For your UPS PRODUCTION credentials you will use the same credentials as TEST, only the REST URL differs.

Add new record

Description: ‘Your Company’ Production

Account Number:  Your actual account number

Client ID: provided on ups.com when you created your application

Client Secret: provided on ups.com when you created your application

REST URL: https://onlinetools.ups.com/

Merchant ID: Left blank at this time

Label Height and Width: please fill in your dimensions

When all Test & Production carrier credentials are set up, proceed to the following steps.

Open Form - SureShip CSI Site Config

You will set up two new ones – ‘Your Company’ Test and ‘Your Company’ Production (or whatever your name choice was in the beginning).  This is where you will set up any carrier accounts that will be included in these bundles.

Add new record

Description: ‘Your Company’ Test

Site – doesn’t matter which one is picked

Carrier: one row for UPS

Carrier Config Id – grab this information from SureShip UPS Config under Test credentials.

Hit Save

Add new record

Description: ‘Your Company’ Production

Site – doesn’t matter which one is picked

Carrier: one row for UPS

Carrier Config Id – grab this information from SureShip UPS Config under Production credentials.


When all CSI Site Config records are set up, proceed to the following steps.

Open Form - SureShip Kiosks

Set up one kiosk for ‘Your Company’ Test only (Production does not need to be set up until your cutover)

Description – ‘Your Company’ Test

Site Config Id – Select the number that corresponds to ‘Your Company’ Test – this number comes from CSI Site Config

Label Printers – choose one from dropdown

Custom Label Printers – choose one from dropdown

Scale – choose one from dropdown

Make note of Kiosk number

Hit Save

 

Open AIT Custom Parameters to make this the default kiosk for anyone using this. Choose Default Kiosk. In Decimal Field 1, put the kiosk number from ‘Your Company’ Test.


Hit Save

 

When the test Kiosk is set up, proceed to the following steps.

Now you can test to see if ‘Your Company’ Test works for rate shopping with UPS.

Open form SureShip Console

Choose any open BOL containing packages with dimensions and weights.

Change Kiosk to “Your Company” Test

Go to SureShip rates tab, select UPS as the carrier, select “Get Rates” tab, if rates appear from UPS, select a viable option.

Return to Pack Scan and print shipping labels/docs, if a test tracking number appears, the test UPS API call was successful.

UPS does not require a label certification process.
