Printing labels using the SurePrint Console

Printing labels using the SurePrint Console

Introduction

The SurePrint Console is the primary interface that end users will use to generate and print labels from ERP records.

This article describes how to find and select reference records and templates to generate labels from, select printers to output labels, update quantity of labels to be printed, and adjust specific data to be printed on labels.

Generating labels using the SurePrint Console

  1. Initiate a filter search by selecting one of the following Ref Type (Reference Type) options.
    • Pick List: Print labels related to a SureShip™ Pick List. A Pick List number or range selection is required.

    • Customer Order: Print labels related to Customer Orders. An Order number or range selection is required at a minimum, but you may further filter results by Line and Release number, if desired/applicable.

    • Transfer Order: Print labels related to Transfer Orders. An Order number or range selection is required at a minimum, but you may further filter results by Line number, if desired.

    • Service Order: Print labels related to Service Orders. An Order number or range selection is required at a minimum, but you may further filter results by Line number, if desired.

    • Item: Print labels related to an Item. An Item number or range selection is required.

    • Job: Print labels related to a Job Order. A Job number or range selection is required.

  2. The following fields may be used to further filter label print options, if desired/applicable.
    • Customer: Narrow results down by a particular Customer number or range. Applicable to Pick Lists, Customer Orders, and Service Orders.
    • Item: Narrow results down by a particular Item number or range. Applicable to all record types.
    • Cust PO: Narrow results down to a particular Customer PO number or range. Applicable to Pick Lists, Customer Orders, and Service Orders.

  3. Set the Include Serials checkbox based on how you would like serialized parts to behave. Enable the checkbox to view label print options broken down by individual serial numbers. Disable the checkbox to keep serialized parts consolidated by reference line.

  4. Enable the Select checkbox for each label print option to be included in the print batch. Values in each column may be accepted as-is with default data, or the information may be manually updated prior to printing.

  5. User Fields are additional fields for retrieving other datapoints from ERP records. These fields can be custom-mapped to automatically populate data from specific fields of your chosen ERP record type. Like all other label print option, user field data can be incorporated into label templates, and their values can be manually overridden at the time of label printing.
Please contact AIT Support for assistance with establishing new user field mappings.
  6. Set print options for the print batch globally or per individual selection.
    • Global Settings: Use the Global Template field to choose a single label template for all selections in the batch whose template is not otherwise specified. Use the Global Printer field to choose a single label printer for all selections in the back whose printer is not otherwise specified.

    • Individual Settings: Use the Template column on a row to choose a template for a specific row in the grid. Use the Printer column on a row to choose a printer for a specific row in the grid.

    • Print Quantity: Use the Print Qty column on a row to choose the number of duplicates to print for a specific row in the grid.
