UCS Carriers API Setup and Configuration - FedEx
(On Prem)

Overview

This document is designed to describe how to setup and configure a Universal Carrier Schema (UCS) in SureShip™.

UCS Setup

  1. In the Carriers form, add the Carrier Code listed for the UCS Carrier. On the SureShip Carrier Management form, Carrier and SureShip Carrier Code must be FEDEX.

      2. In the SureShip Carriers form, add the same Carrier Code listed for the UCS Carrier. Select the Universal Carrier Schema check box.

      3. In the SureShip Carrier Connection Configurations form, add a new record for the carrier, specify a Config ID of 1 and Save. You do not need to set up any additional information.

      4. In the SureShip Carrier Connection Configurations form, on the new carrier configuration, select Populate Default Data. This will generate all the records and data needed for that carrier.

      5. In the SureShip Carrier Connection Configurations form on the API Calls tab, there will be various types of connection calls such as ADDRESS, CERT, RETURN, and SHIP.

      6. For some carriers there may be additional information to substitute in the Attributes tab. Refer to FedEx REST API Configuration in SureShip for exact values that will need to be entered.

Setting Ship Via Codes and Ship Via Mapping

  1. In the Ship Via Codes form, add Ship Via Codes for the new carrier.

      2. In the SureShip Ship Via Mapping form, add a Ship Via Mapping record for the Ship Via codes you created for the carrier, and Save.

      3. Navigate to the Shipping Options tab and set up the shipping option defaults you would like to use for this carrier connection. The defaults that are set here will flow to the customer orders/transfer orders/service orders when selected and then to the Bill of Lading (BOL).

      4. For Freight Carriers, in the SureShip Carrier Package Types form, create a mapping for the new Carrier Package Type to the appropriate SL (SyteLine) Package Type. Select the Freight and Adjustable Dims check boxes.

      5. On the SureShip CSI Site Config form, for the Site Configurations you have set up, add a new record for the new Carrier with its Carrier Config ID and Save.
