Configuring Custom Shipping Labels with SureShip
Configuring Custom Shipping Labels with SureShip
Bartender Configuration
- Install and license Bartender automation on a machine in your environment.
- Setup polling automation for a directory in your environment.
- Using the template .btw and template data file provided upon request, create your custom Bartender label. The template data file will contain all the fields available for use when printed from SureShip.
Carrier Output Manager Configuration
For each configuration specified in the Carrier Output Manager, ensure that the Bartender Directory is the same directory in your local environment that Bartender is polling. This directory is where the output manager will save the .dat files for Bartender to pick up and process.
SyteLine Configuration
- On the SureShip Parameters form, set PrintNonAPILabels to 1.
- Using the SureShip Label Types form, create a record for your custom label and Save. In the Document Template grid, add a record, and set the Whse (Warehouse) to *. The filename should be the complete path and filename to the Bartender .btw file in your local environment. This filename will be included in the command section of the Bartender output file, the path should match the path that the Bartender will use when it picks up the file for processing to find the .btw.
2. Using the SureShip Label Printing Defaults form, create a record for your new custom label. If you want the label to be printed by default, select the Selected check box and set the number of copies to 1 or greater.
3. Using the Printers form, add the printers that you have configured in Bartender. They should be entered with the exact same name that your local bartender server will use to print. These printer(s) will be included in the command section of the Bartender output file, so the path should match the path that Bartender will use when it picks up the file for processing to find the .btw.
4. Open the SureShip Kiosks form and for each kiosk go to the SureShip Labels tab to configure Bartender label printing.
- If the Carrier Output Manager has been set up as a PUSH, then you will need to enter the ServerName, and Logical Folder that you have configured as the location to send the Bartender output. If the Carrier Output Manager has been set up as a PULL, then these fields will not be used.
- Enter the default printer used by this kiosk for all Bartender labels. If a specific template requires a different label printer, those will be configured in the grid. Any label template setup in the grid will use the printer specified there, instead of the Default Printer.
Adding UET fields to SureShip Bartender Labels
SureShip™ supports the addition of up to 50 UET fields on the SureShip BOL tables for inclusion in the output to Bartender. Those fields are configured by using the SureShip Label Types form in SyteLine.
- Using the SureShip Label Types form, go to the User Fields tab for the desired label template.
- Enter the name of the UET field exactly as it exists (case sensitive), and select the UF Field (1 through 50) to map to in the Bartender output template.
