Setting Up SSCC Codes (Serial Shipping Container Codes)

Overview

This is the setup process to assign SSCC codes to your packages on the SureShip Console. 

Pre-Requisites

  1. Bartender must be set up in your environment, and the Carrier Output Manager should be configured with the location of the bartender label data polling directory. 
  2. A bartender label should be created using the template .btw ad template data file provided by DRI. The template data file will contain all the fields available for use when printed from SureShip, including the SSCC barcode data, which is located in the SSCC data column. 

SyteLine Configuration

  1. Using the SureShip Parameters form, set the following parameters:
    1. GS1CompanyPrefix – This is the GS1 Company Prefix for your company. The prefix is between 7 and 10 digits long. 
                  b. (Optional) – In SureShip Parameters, set the LegacyLastUsedSerial number if you want to seed the SSCC values from anything other than 1. 

                  c. SureShip Customer Management form, enable SSCC barcodes for every customer that requires SSCC barcodes on their
                        packages. 

On the Misc tab select SSCC Enabled check box and Save.











       
      2.  Configure your custom Bartender SSCC label to print at the time of shipping. 

Once configured, the SSCC data will be generated for every new package created on a SureShip BOL automatically. You can view the SSCC data on the SureShip SSCC form.
