Palletization using the SureShip Console

Palletization using the SureShip Console

Introduction

The SureShip Console can be used to palletize units and child packages for LTL freight shipping. Refer to this article for additional information about serialized pallet licensing.

This article describes methods for adding, loading, unloading, and removing pallets on BOLs.

Verify that the Pack Scan tab is displayed for the correct BOL before proceeding.

Adding and loading pallets on a BOL

Method 1: Create a new pallet and add child packages

  1. Verify that all child packages to be loaded onto the pallet exist in the Packages table, that all units have been added to those packages, and that all packages have been assigned weights.
  2. From the Pallet Options section, enable the Pallet? checkbox and select the appropriate Pallet Type for the intended carrier.

  1. From the Packages table, enable the Select checkbox for each child package to be loaded onto the pallet.

  1. Click Load Pallet.

  1. The selected packages will be removed from the Packages table and replaced with the selected pallet type. The pallet’s Weight will be automatically calculated as the sum of all child packages, but can be manually overridden.

Pallet License number will be automatically assigned to the newly created pallet if licensing is enabled for the associated customer ship-to address.

Method 2: Load additional child packages onto an existing pallet

  1. Verify that all child packages to be loaded onto the pallet exist in the Packages table, that all units have been added to those packages, and that all packages have been assigned weights.
  2. Select the pallet from the Packages table.

  1. Navigate to the Child Packages tab at the bottom of the form. Select the child package to be added from the Packages to Load table and click Add Package.

Method 3: Load all unloaded packages onto a pallet

  1. Verify that all child packages to be loaded onto the pallet exist in the Packages table, that all units have been added to those packages, and that all packages have been assigned weights.
  2. Select the pallet from the Packages table.

  1. Navigate to the Child Packages tab at the bottom of the form. Click Add All Packages.

Method 4: Add units directly to pallets without child packages

This method will not create child packages. The pallet will be treated as a package.

  1. Follow the standard unit packaging procedure, using a pallet as the selected Package Type.

Removing child packages from a pallet

Method 1: Unload child packages from a pallet one at a time

  1. Select the pallet from the Packages table.

  1. Navigate to the Child Packages tab at the bottom of the form. Select the child package to be removed from the Loaded Packages table and click Remove Package.

Method 2: Unload all child packages from a pallet

  1. Select the pallet from the Packages table.

  1. Navigate to the Child Packages tab at the bottom of the form. Click Remove All Packages.

Method 3: Remove units from pallets without child packages

  1. Follow the standard unit removal procedure.

Removing pallets from a BOL

All child packages must be removed from a pallet before it can be removed from the BOL.

  1. From the Packages table, click the pallet to be removed.
  2. Click Delete an object in the current collection and click OK on the resulting confirmation message.
  3. Click Save.
